Outpatient
Counseling
I specialize
in treating children with ADHD/ODD, Conduct Disorder, Pervasive
Developmental Disorder, Asperger, Reactive Attachment Disorder (especially in international child adoptions,) selective mutism, and sexual abuse victims.
Structured
games I created are also effective in helping children afflicted
with dyslexia. I include other siblings and parents in my play therapy
sessions when it is helpful. My approach is a short-term,
solution-oriented, cognitive-behavioral approach.
I am accepting new clients after January 2012. I am also recruiting children for a weekly Social Skills Group for elementary school age children to start as soon as I have 4 group members. Please call me at 512-251-3298 to discuss your child's needs, affordable rates, and flexible appointment options.
Client Testimonial: "Norma has been a God-send for our mixed family of adopted, birth, and step-children. She has always been available by phone to give me ideas...within minutes I'll have a better understanding of how to handle the current problem with her 'to the point' coaching. ...Seeing Norma for two hours is better than seeing other therapists for weeks and weeks."
